That 250 has got a lot of pep and should be able to push your ‘51 along nicely. Are you now wanting to race your truck?? Seems like a lot of work to make the swap, but it’s your truck.

My 2 cents worth.

Drop the rear end ratio a little would help a lot, and lot easier.

Or drop a lot since you have OD! I'd say 3.73 at least, since we have grades to pull in my part of the world I'd got 4.10:1

Doesn't he want to raise the "ratio" ? (3.73 to 1 is a higher "ratio" than 3.23 to 1).
I know what you mean, I just want to make sure everyone else does.
I have heard of 3.73 to 1 rear end as being described as lower "gear", and a 3.23 to 1 rear end as a higher "gear", and I am fine with that.

Most every one I have ever talked to says lower ratio, as in this case.
I know that means lower speed ratio, not numerically as you point out wink.

When I saw the title I thought maybe someone was trying the Cummins Repower smile.
