I have a 53 1/2 ton that I have installed a 12 Bolt rear end as well as a sm-465 Muncie truck 4 speed all out of a 73' 1/2 ton Long bed donner. I shimmed the tranny x-member and rear end with the angleometer and have now measured 61.5 in from U joint center to U joint center the 73 had a two piece drive shaft with a carier bearing which I would like to avoid using. So I need to find a drive shaft with a slip joint mounted about 4 in from the front ujoint. Does anyone know of a 61.5 that will work from the bone yard? I sure wish the Muncie had the standard slip joint output shaft fitting like the car Mucies and Turbo 350's. I assume it is not possibe to convert to this more comon "slip joint at the tranny output shaft" since the output of the sm-465 has the Ujoint yoke threaded on? Any advice would be greatly apreciated so I don't have to pay the drive shaft shop big $$$

FYI I found a 80' F-150 drive shaft that fits perfect and has the slip yoke! I did have to buy the cross over Ujoints but other than that it fits great!
