Need some advice, I am putting new drums and brakes all around. I'll need to press in new studs for the drums. I have been told that all you need to do is use the nut to pull the stud though the new drums. But I've never done this before and am unsure as how to go about it. I tried for a bit this morning and could not get anywhere. Has anyone done this? If push comes to shove to shove I suppose I could try to get h pressed in?

Any pointers would help.

I replaced the studs in the front hubs of my 55.1 3600 nearly 30 years ago by driving the old ones out with a punch and big hammer. I drove the new ones in the same way, same punch, same hammer.

I’ve seen it done on a couple of the TV car repair shows, however, the experts advise against it. Back in the days when I did that kind of stuff we used a 20 ton press and a sleeve that easily fit over the stud.
