Can anyone identify this pickup bed for me? It's not mine, but a friend's. The hole on the right hand side looks like it's factory cut. Length of the bed is 7 1/2ft long. The rear bumper has one of the bumper bolts that is an oval shape (not pictured) instead of round. Is it Chevy/GMC? Thanks in advance JP
1947-1948 3/4 ton chevy/gmc box. The hole is factory cut. It is for the gas tank that was under the bed on that side. Only 47/48 had this hole, after that the gas tank went in the cab.

Man, that was fast. The only pictures that I could find in the gallery had the gas tank fill tube on the right hand side of the cab. Didn't see any with the filer on the bed. Thanks!

Yep, the only difference would be the tailgate with logo, which appears to be missing.

I THOUGHT it might be Chevy/GMC by looking at the shape of the uprights on the side of the bed and the tailgate hinges. But didn't know for sure. It's good to know the years and that it's a 3/4 ton bed. Thanks again JP
Those fenders are actually in pretty decent shape. No rust-thru's that I can tell. A little hammer and dolly work and they'd be ready for paint. That front panel would be a PITA to straighten at the top though.

Left fender is worse than the right one. I figured a decent body man could fix the right one. Side panels are in good condition . Wooden floor is gone though. JP
