Great find! I love reading about how they did things in the "good ole daze."

There was a chop shop busted by the cops south of Seattle a couple days ago, and it made me think of the probablility of my truck being stolen. It seems like a longshot, given the age (and appearance) of the truck; still, some type of security would be a good thing.

PJ that's cool! smile
I've also heard that back in the 50's some guys were using model A coils, and had it rigged somehow to where if you put your hand on the door handle, it would shock you. eek grin

Thank god for the kill switch that I hooked up, cause my truck was already attempted to be stolen once already.

Next I plan on drilling a hole in the E-brake, and putting a pad lock on it so the thief can't release the E-brake. (hard to move truck)
I've also installed an alarm that is well hidden.
I also got to make a bracket to lock the hood, so nobody will try to steal the battery.

There is a company that makes a lock that connects to your brake line, you step on the brakes, then turn the key, and all your brakes are locked...

I did that coil trick once. Works real nice but you have figure out how to defeat it without zapping yourself. So... If you can, so can a skum bag. But, updating the idea with a remote control puts up a real nice shield. I never thought much about liability.... Today the thief could just sue you and get your truck that way. Its hard to win in a land with no morals.
