I've got an 89 blazer in my driveway, but it's got the shifter on the steering column. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 109 Member | | Member Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 109 | Most any GM collapsible column from a floor-shift car will work. Some vans had nice ones too. They only made 2 or 3 different lengths, should be easy to get one!
Im using a 84 Impala column in my 50 Burb. This gives me hi-low beam switch, wipers, turn signals and column shift!
If your one of those guys like me who pull themselves in with the steering wheel, try to pass on the tilt wheel! (how often do you adjust it anyway)?

There are several companies marketing new columns in the GM pattern. That may be more money than you want to spend, though. You can also use the original if you cut it and fabricate shafts for it, as long as you don't mind it being an impaler.

I think I'm going to try this steering shaft out of this wrecked k5, and I'll do a touch of metal work to get rid of that pieces that holds the shifter.
