I have a Lincoln 135 Mig set up. If I swith to flux cored wire will it put out enough power to weld in a new Must II crossmember? or do I need to use 220 volt set up?

I would tack it in and then have a professional do the actual welding. There are lifes at stake.

Take TonyM's advice.F.Y.I ...Get the gas shield kit for that, and get proficient at MIG welding.Flux core welding is good, but it has it's place, use NR-211 MP wire. There is too much smoke, and slag to clean for the type of work you are looking to do.The only thing I use Innershield for are rebuilding loader and excavator buckets and dozer blades.Set the 135 up for .023 solid wire with gas for body work, and buy a 250 or so amp 220 V machine so you can do heavier work with .030-.035 wire.It will also like the Innershield better.

Stea,
Being a welder myself,my opinion is that who ever you bring it to will want to do the prep and set up themselves.I would either have them tell you how they want it set up or be very specific in telling your welder what you intend on doing.you want to both be on the same page so the work gets done to your needs.make sure you bring it to someone who knows about frame welding.whatever you end up doing, good luck hope it turns out well
