Ok, I haven't been here for a while and don't know if this is the right sub forum but anyway...I have a good running 2wd V6 4Runner rollover and a buddy just sent me a picture of some sort '47-'53 3100, From the picture I think it's a short bed.
Anybody know about putting an AD body on a 4Runner frame?

TIA!

I may be wrong but I believe that might be a first for Stovebolt.com, sounds interesting. The tape measure will be your best friend. 🛠

Just seen a cell phone picture of the AD. It will probably be a while before I get some measurements. I Googled and didn't find anything. Thought I'd try here, yuh just never know...I'll post back when and if this starts to come together, it's still in the crap shoot stage.

If you go here Vehicle Information Kits - GM Heritage Center, you will find a site with an electronic packet of info for quite a few vehicles. Look through the AD truck files, and there should be diagrams outlining the dimensions of the various sized trucks, cabs, and chassis. Between that and taking measurements of the 4 Runner you've got, you should get a feel for how the project might go.

While I’m not opposed to a chassis swap, I believe the 4Runner is going to be a lot shorter than an AD truck. A google search shows a 4Runner having a 109 wheelbase. A 3100 truck is 116 and 3600 125.5. As far as width goes, I don’t know, The 4Runner being based on the Tacoma, it should be ok.

I have been thinking about a 4WD project like this for a long while. But it is probably too much work for the benefit.

Another quality post.
