Does anyone know where to buy a good rebuild kit? Im hoping that rebuilding the carburetor will improve the way the truck drives alot. The rebuild should be very cheap and should hold me off until i put a new motor in.

I was having troubles with my old rochester. Rebuilt it and was still having problems (worn out at the throttle plate pivot points). I am very careful when rebuilding and just couldn't get it to stay adjusted. Ended up replacing it with a unit from the local parts store for about $75. Best investment I made for a smooth engine, better starts and more mpg. Don't like to throw money at a problem but it was surprisingly cheap for a carb and it did the trick.

Conceived was lucky. About half -the reman carbs don,t work right. I would try rebuilding it first. You can get a kit from Carquest or Napa for about $20 or less. It,s true sometimes you just can,t get it right & have to resort to a reman. Don,t turn the old one in till the job is done & working right. smile

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.
