I love coming to this forum because you guys always have the answers I need. I just lost the front brake hose on my 3600, but all I can find online are 1/2 ton front brake hoses. There's lots of 3/4 ton rear brake hoses out there but none for the front. So, I'm wondering why. I can have one made at a local hose distributor but it will involve adapters, and I would rather put the correct hose on the truck. I don't want to order the part and have to return it if it doesn't fit.
Let me know, Thanks. Rick -

What year 3/4 ton?
Chevrolet or GMC?

[include your make, year, model/series of truck in each new thread/question]

Hy tclederman and VCRick, back on 11/29/ 2014 I answered VCRing's question about his 1959 3600 (3/4 ton) front brake hose, I told him Raybestos p/n BH24458 which is 21 1/4" o.a.l. 7/16" X 20 t.p.i. male on one end, and 7/16" X 24 t.p.i. female thread with 5/8" X 18 t.p.i. male thread on the outside. The 1/2 ton front brake hose for 1959 is Raybestos BH23933 which has the same ends but is 2 5/8" shorter, I hope again that this information helps.

It is a 1959 Chevy, and thanks for the info Master Gabster. Looks like I can order if from Rock Auto. I'll order one in the morning.

Looks like I'll be back on the road again..

Hi all,
Back at the brakes again. wasn't able to bleed the back brakes and found the flex hose that feeds the rear brakes is clogged (Thanks Jerry!). The flex hose looks the same as the front brake lines I just replaced. Unfortunately I already tossed the old lines so got nothing to compare to. The flex hose I took off the truck is just under 18 inches in length, so thinking the Raybestos BH23933 referenced above will work. Thought I'd ask before I ordered the part. Am I correct in my assumptions?
Thanks,

Since the brake system is opened up anyway, try swapping one of those front hoses to the rear to see if it bolts up right before ordering one. When I'm resurrecting a long-dead brake system, all the flex hoses (and usually all the metal lines) get replaced as a matter of routine- - - -it's cheap life insurance.

Thought about that, but finally got the front brakes assembled and bled, and not in a hurry to take em apart again.

Bleeding is a 10-minute procedure, less if you use "speed bleeders".
