Go to any hydraulic shop and get them to make some #3 or #4 diameter "single braid" lines in whatever length you want. You'll need a 1/8" NPT male fitting on both ends, one rigid, and the other end with a swivel fitting so it can be tightened without twisting the line. #3 line is 3/16" ID and #4 is 1/4"- - - - -either one will work. Single braid line is rated to carry hot hydraulic fluid at a working pressure of 3,000 PSI, so 216 oil pressure of less than 30 PSI won't stress it at all. Jerry

So even a larger diameter hose would not hurt anything.

Flex lines bigger than 1/4" ID are just a little hard to manipulate in the somewhat cramped space they need to occupy without getting against the exhaust pipe. Jerry

Old tractor filters came that way. Since the filter is attached directly to engine (intake manifold), there is no need for a soft line.

It is possible the oil filter I added to my 54 235 was not the correct year and the design might be why one line came up short. I tired NAPA. they do make up lines but did not have the correct fitting for to match up with my oil filter. After no luck searching for a longer line that would work I went to Advance Auto parts ( they carry more in stock brake parts than Auto Zone) and bought the copper/nickel brake line (more flexible) and some fittings to make up my own line. My input line is rubber and my output line is metal. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 | Where is you oil filter mounted? The only thing local folks are offering is 3 000 psi hydraulic lines with massive fitting. I suppose I could try and fabricate a line out of copper tubing. Maybe I have the wrong year filter cannister. The input oil line is on the radiator side of the cannister. Makes more sense to be on the cab side. If it was on the cab side the 18" line i got from JC would probably work. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 | What length line do you have?
What length line do you need?
. . . and, if you are in an answering mood: "Where is you oil filter mounted? Can you post a photo of it?"

Bulk fuel hose to use with these is available at most parts stores. Unless you put a coil in it to absorb vibration, copper isn't the best to use, as it may eventually crack at the fittings.

The copper/nickel brake lines make very good oil filter lines if you choose to run hard pipe instead of flex lines. They also come with inverted flare fittings on both ends, which are easy to connect to the filter with a flare-to-pipe adapter bushing. Jerry

You need something rated for 200 degrees F. or hotter, minimum. Jerry

Even the more common J30R7 is rated for the same temperature. Here's some info from Parker Parker Push-LokUnless you go to their high temp hose, they don't rate them for more than 212F. Even that should be adequate, especially considering the low pressure.
