For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jun 2016 Posts: 236 DLBrooks | | DLBrooks Joined: Jun 2016 Posts: 236 | Did the 41-46 Big bolts only have 6 blade fans, or if any truck was ordered with a shroud have 6 blade fans? With or without heavy duty radiator. I kninda unknowingly put a 4 blade fan with shroud on the 3/4 ton. If I had remembered I had it, I would have used the 6 blade. I have no overheating problems on the 3/4 ton --- 235, 4 blade fan with shroud ---light duty radiator all off a 1.5 ton.
Just curious. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 97 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 97 | Based on WW2 Canadian Army Chevrolets, the same weight class truck could be fitted with either 4 blade or more fans depending more on where it was expected to be used (Africa, India, UK, arctic?) than the weight class (3/4 ton to 3 ton load). The radiators also didn't change much, if at all for the different weight classes. All very nice - if it looked the same and fit the same it would basically work the same... | | | | | Joined: Jun 2016 Posts: 236 DLBrooks | | DLBrooks Joined: Jun 2016 Posts: 236 | Correction on my initial post. The 1.5 ton had the heavy duty --thicker radiator. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 5,096 Crusing in the Passing Lane | | Crusing in the Passing Lane Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 5,096 | I once saw a 1.5 or 2 ton Chevy fuel tanker with what appeared to be a factory radiator that was very thick.
