What it is is a rare 1 of 1,000 (so I was told) 1960 GMC truck hood ornament. I have another but it has a broken tail piece.
Yes, I know I must be nuts to pay what I did, but I put up $300.00 and at the last 20 seconds 8 more bids hit, I almost fainted.

It looks better than the pictures show and really does not need re-chroming, but I will anyway in another year.
