** The hockey stick one will be used on both sides of the glass on doors with the vent window {1951/1955 1st} The straight one will be used on doors prior to 1951. I attached the whiskers on my doors with #6 stainless steel sheet metal screws. They will screw down far enough to clear the glass. Used 4 screws on each. Be careful not to drill your first hole for the screw to large for the screw. Do a test fit on scrap sheet metal first to be safe.
Now I'm really confused. The catalogs show a straight and hockey stick piece going on each door for 51-55. But now you're saying the hockey stick piece goes on the inside and outside of the glass on each door so I need a total of 4 pieces?
** The door and inside window trim have the same shape on the aft end thus the curved whiskers were used on my 52 five window & 53 Suburban on both sides of the glass and looks correct to me. The curved whisker would also be used on the outside of the window no matter what year. I'm also thinking the curved whisker would also look better on the inside of the window of all the trucks no matter the year due the fact that all the doors and window trim have the same shape on the aft end. I guess the best answer is it's your truck.
