What I have seen is the vertical center section is removed, then you use a spare front grill as a donor to weld in the open area left by the removal of the center section. So what you have left is two horizontal grill bars. Has anyone done this or have an article they can email me? I found a rough grill at the Pumpkin Run this last weekend and I could really use some help!

You may just have to muddle through this on your own.
