old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2013 Posts: 56 creating memories | | creating memories Joined: May 2013 Posts: 56 | Hey folks! I used to be part of this group, but sold my 62 C-10 for cash to work on other projects. My lasts posts revolved around trying to purchase the actual 1963 C-10 used in the filming of Twilight. You see, I write teen romances and I'm finishing up a six book spinoff series based on the Twilight movies. I came so very close to purchasing the Twilight truck, but ultimately the current owner couldn't part with it. I sulked, and licked my wounds after a nearly two year search and negotiation process. I bought a 1932 Ford Vicky with a 1956 Desoto HEMI and enjoy it immensely. It's the first already built vehicle I've ever bought. While complete, I already have some upgrades in mind. Anyway, I just couldn't get the Twilight truck out of my head and since the original was no longer possible, close was now okay unlike the 62 I had. I just recently purchased a 1965 C-10. It needs a little TLC, but hopefully nothing serious. Because of my previous stint here, I knew what I was looking at when I looked at these old trucks. I think I got a good one. It's a 283 CID, with a TH350 automatic transmission and power steering. Before summer, I plan to add A/C since this is going to be my day driver. I'm so excited to have another C-10 that sometimes I just sit in it in my garage. So, looking forward to getting reacquainted with everyone and sharing build and car/truck stories. Besides the Vicky, I have a hand built roadster that's powered by a Harley Davison engine and a Legend's car that I'm going to make street legal. I also have a Honda CB-350 motorcycle that I enjoy riding in the mountains of North and South Carolina with my son. I'm 56 years old, retired, but health problems keep me from the garage as much as I would like, but that's where my writing comes in. It's nice to be back! | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 7,440 Bolter | | Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 7,440 |

I might be able to read your books in about 4 or 5 years, since my "need to read" pile keeps growing exponentially.
