Today at the junk yard, i was looking for the block number on an engine that was sporting the 3836848 head and i was confronted with this tag, (attached photo). I had heard that Sears sold rebuild engines, but never figured i'd see one in person. neat
if i want just that 3836848 head, what do y'all figure it is worth max? -s
Hy 2ManyTrucks, you confuse me my friend, your info says your from California, but at the bottom of all your posts you have Canadian Chevrolet model numbers for one ton and three quarter ton trucks and a Canadian GMC one ton model number. In todays question you post a picture of an engine sold through Simpson Sears in Canada, are you really a Canadian but living in California??? As to the value of the cylinder head $50.00 - $75.00 I'm guessing.
I live and spend most of my time in California, but my farm is in Saskatchewan, it's where i was born and raised, and how i got most of my trucks, they were my grandpa's and now i own the place, and i have added more to the collection. my trucks are all Canadian models, but they are nearly identical to their USA versions. -s
That motor is neat. Love the plate. I wonder what is under the sticker. What a shame, a complete motor with paint still on the tin work. I try to pay 100 for my heads but I would probably go 150 for a nice one. That has not been sitting in a field for 30 years.
