For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Apr 2009 Posts: 187 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2009 Posts: 187 | Just getting close to having my 50 pu on the road after several years of restoration, when I look at the rear tail light mounting they sure look easy to steal, any ideas out there how to make them more anti theft. I did see a truck in Yuma where they welded everything but I would like to avoid that, any thoughts would be appreciated.
I would rather be late 10 minutes in this life than 10 minutes early for the next

It's a common tail light and inexpensive to buy. I've never heard of one being stolen.

Do you have hubcaps or wheel covers? Do you have outside mirrors? You most likely have a locking gas filler cap?
How are you "securing" those parts?

I leave mine in the truck also. My anti theft system is the stomp started, not to mention how many of these kids today can shift on the column.
I look at it this way, if they want something, they will get it. I would rather them unbolt the brake light and cut a few wires then destroying my fender and causing more damage.
Just my thoughts,

But, theres metric fasteners, Tamper proof hardware, Loc-Tite, JB- weld, or remove it and take it with you when shopping, etc... | | |
