I was going to replace the cab corner on my 1951 chevy, and after cutting the corner piece out, I realized I needed to also replace the the inner cab corner. The lower rocker panel welds to the inner cab corner, and the lower door piller welds to that. My questions are (1) is there a was to get the inner cab corner out, and the rocker panel out without messing up the lower door piller. I am going to replace the rocker panel, and cab corners, but the rear door pillars are in good shape. Also what are the holes for on the front of the rocker panel, my old ones were rusted out bad. It looks like you will be doing a lot of work on your truck in the future. I suggust you get a factory assembly manual. It will show you every bolt, nut, and rivet on the truck. I would not be able to do very much work on mine with out it. Check out the link below.

It is hard to determine if you are talking about the front or rear corners as both attach to the rocker panel. Assuming you are asking about the rear corner I will suggest examining your current inner corner to see if you can replace only the rotted out portion with good metal from the patch panel. No where does it say you have to use the full panel. If you can splice in what you need to the existing inner corner you will not have to break the spot welds to the B pillar. Just make sure you remove all the bad metal so you are not trying to weld to rust.
