Well hope your all doing well , My little diesel S-10 Chevy pickup munched a injection pump so my 48 ex-fire truck 2 ton has become my Daily driver .
With the 4.11 ratio Dana 70 HD ford motor home rear axel ,running 265 / 75 / R16 tires it has a Clark 5 speed non syncro which was stock for a lot of fire trucks ,5th is 1 to 1 . With this combo it cruises at 55 no problem .
I just went to single rear tires and gas mileage is a whole lot better . still 20's on the front but I just found some 7.50 16's which is the same Od as the 20's and I think the 16" wheels clear the break drums .
I just put a 70's 250 6 cyl Mono-Jet Carb on the 216 it sure runs good with this carb .I found a hidden by a aluminum plug adjustable needle jet under the float bowl that really helped get this crab dialed in on the 216 .
The only down side is no power steering and down shifting the non syncro tranny ,Florida traffic is a pain in the butt .
