I'm swapping out my OE 1942 Muncie 4 speed for a 58 Saginaw 3 speed trans. I plan to keep my original 3/4 ton truck rear end. Unfortunately, I've found that my pinion input bearing is badly worn. Thus far, I've tracked down the OE part numbers for the front (905306) and rear (125630) pinion bearings, but have only found the front bearing thus far. Does anyone have a good source for the 3/4 ton pinion bearings for the 1942 truck? If so, please pass along your source. Thanks in advance. Tom

Thanks for the recommendation. What I'm building is a period correct street rod, such as one of us (with limited funds) might have done in HS. I really want to retain my OE artillery wheels, and the stock look of the truck. The engine is a 1962 235 with dual Carters, Offy intake, Fenton headers, and dual exhaust. I'm in the process of exchanging the stock 1942 differential (4.55) with a stock 1955 1/2 ton diff (3.90). It bolts right into the 1942 housing with no mods (other than the rear U-joint, and driveshaft length). That will make my OE Muncie 4 speed a bit more "drivable". I'm also looking at replacing the Muncie with a 1957 Saginaw 3 speed OD trans. Looks like everything will fit but, I need to do some more research on the ability to retain the 1942 bell housing vs. the 1957 bell housing. Biggest issue there looks like engine/trans mounts, pedals, and clutch disk diameter. I'll look into the GM 14 bolt you recommended. Thanks once again for your input.
