He said that you have to completely degrease them before sliding the hub on, I said you have to put put a light coat on to prevent rust.
The question is which of us is correct?

"completely degreasing" them is primarily to remove old grease and possible dirt.
If you then want to wipe a little grease or oil on them to ward off rust you may as well, no harm done. | | |
