The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Paint and Body Shop Front Fender Extension Seal?

Howdy, so I am in the process of doing some patching on both of my front fenders on my '57 half ton. Looking at the front fender extensions that rivet to the fender there are staples punched through the fender extension as if there should be a seal there between the ext and the front of the fender. There wasn't one there when I tore everything apart a couple years ago. Should there be a seal there and if so what seal is it? I don't see anything on any of the usual parts sites for this area.

You can look and look no supplier has this item .But if you look at your inner fender the back seal that is stapled on is the same as the piece you are looking for, fits perfect. Hard to staple in ,I used weather strip glue and a few small rivets to hold in place.Just buy the rubber for inner fenders and cut to fit . It is easy to install if you take the rivets out, put rubber on and then reinstall ,with some round headed blind rivets

Alright, I had a thought that might be the same type of seal. Also makes sense that the extension is riveted on now with having a seal there.
