Glad to hear everything went well, other than the poor 216 that wanted to retire. I will be waiting for the pictures!

Temp is finally tolerable as I drive my bolt almost daily around post and to school. I am building confidence in her and figuring out all the little things. She runs great at operating temp but doesn’t like to do much until that point! Kind of like her owner.

Pulling into Stovebolt HQ is like pulling into the driveway of your childhood home to see all your family and friends after a long deployment overseas. There are no better brothers on this planet. I only wish I had longer to visit.

Thanks to DJ and his dad for staying on my butt in an effort to get my truck running. Its almost there!

There were many great stories and accomplishments this past weekend. My personal favorite was after leaving the hardware store to see our Jack Van Orden play the banjo like no other. I was riding with Amtrak Joe and when we got to his wonderfully done Deadwrench, there was a little boy about 5 years old staring at it. His Mom tells Joe that the boy would not leave the truck and she has been trying like crazy to keep her son's hands off the truck. He replies, "why did you do that?" opens the door and tells the boy to hop in.

The young boy and his brother and sister hop in the truck. Joe fires it up and takes them for a ride around the parking lot. The expression on that kids face was the best thing I saw all weekend.

Theres still a little water dripping out of the bottom of the motor home and its parked inside! Still not complaining though, we could of had this weather all weekend (remember 2009?)

Oh and I need to says thanks again to DJ for cooking that huge breakfast Saturday morning. That was a lot of work, very tasty and greatly appreciated.

I was sitting down last night making notes for next year. Yea, I'm already looking forward to the next one!

Pulled the head and pan. Pistons are in good shape as well as the head. #2 plug looked wet, so I pulled the piston out. Bearings and rings were good. Might as well pull the rest to see if some rings decided to give up. Did find metallic shiny stuff in the pan. All connecting rods are good as well as pushrods. No mixing of fluids either.
Pushed her just a little to hard. and fall is my favorite time to go driving those little country back roads till I get lost.
