I have an opportunity to get a rear bumper, brackets and valance for my panel truck, but it's on a 1-ton (I think it's 1-ton, it has 8 lugs). Anyone know if the rear bumpers are the same as my 1/2-ton?

The bumpers from the heavier panel will fit the 1/2 ton panel, I have them on my 51 Suburban. They are also considerably thicker than the 1/2 ton bumpers. I am not sure about the rear brackets being the same but the bumpers fit the 1/2 ton brackets. just fine.

Well I spent the day crawling in the dirt under a 1-ton panel truck removing the rear bumper and brackets only to get them home and discover that they are approximately 10 inches narrower than my 1/2-ton bumper brackets. WTH? Here's a photo comparison; bottom bumper and brackets are 1/2-ton, top bumper and brackets are 1-ton. $100 lesson learned, dang it.

Frames are wider on 1/2 ton models, 3/4 and 1 tons should be the same

I will be posting an ad in the Truck Parts For Sale to sell this 1-ton bumper and brackets.
