I have a 1954 1.5 ton. The front out wheel bearing needs to be replaced. The race cracked. I've been looking and calling around and nobody has the parts I need for a 1.5 ton. Can somebody tell me if a 1 ton and 1.5 ton have the same spindle size and use the same bearings like I've been told? If not, can anybody point me in the right direction to order new bearings and races? Thank you

There should be numbers on it as well as the manufacturer. https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/BRGB45their buyers guide on that page shows it fits a 1 ton as well but, I would not trust that 100%. I am sure you will get some more info fron some of the other guys shortly! I am new to these trucks and still figuring a lot out as I go along. I found this site and it has been a great resource. I am going to pull the good one out this weekend when I have time and bring it in to the store to match them up. Hopefully it'll work so I can get her back on the road.

I found this clear picture on O'reilly's site in case anybody else looking for a similar bearing. There's also a NOS on ebay right with part number 909625 which looks like the part number for the race.

Reference and cross reference method. Easy. Application and ID/OD/Width are also ways to find but take longer. "Chevs of the 40's" shows the SAME part number for 3/4, 1T and 1 1/2 T. You are in luck. Could be this (1954 3800) or equivalent. Scroll down to see the size. | | | | Joined: Aug 2018 Posts: 28 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Aug 2018 Posts: 28 | I couldn't read the numbers on the bearings. I've been told that 3/4 ton to 1.5 ton are the same but then I have some people tell me they're not. Like I said, I'm new to all this and learning as I go. I appreciate the help and responses.

Seems to be the same as the Napa one I gave you BRGB45. Napa says 3/4-1 1/2 ton are the same, and if you are finding that same info elsewhere, I would probably believe it. Sounds like you have a few places you can get one now! | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,988 Sir Searchalot | Sir Searchalot Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,988 | "Chevs of the 40's" shows the SAME part number for 3/4, 1T and 1 1/2 T. I would think this company would be in the know. Chevs of the 40's is a well known supplier and web site. Bottom line is it gives you opportunity to measure and compare before purchase. You have the orig and O'Reilly's gives the dimensions on the link. No guess work on this. | | | | Joined: Aug 2018 Posts: 28 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Aug 2018 Posts: 28 |
