The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Paint and Body Shop What colour is this??

It’s called Granite Grey in the advertising for it, but it’s nowhere near that colour. I don’t see it matching anything I can find 55-59...custom mix?

Mine is that color from the factory, I don't know what its called. Like you I checked the granite grey and its not right. At least not the way they want to mix it. More like a grey blue.

Hy 55jalopy, welcome, my truck sales data book is from 1959, it lists only one gray, that is Cadet gray number 5009. The truck in the video appears darker than my small colour chip in the book, but trying to compare the two is a challenge, hope that helps.

Chevrolet had a Dawn Gray Metallic in '56 for the passenger cars...looks closer to that than the Granite Gray (I have chips of both).

Could be the paint supplier mixed it wrong and no one checked it...thinking "that's close enough". Actually looks very close to the stock interior Gray...

Don't know yet. Not to the paint stage yet. But the factory paint I'm finding is not a grey or a blue. Appears to be grey with a light blue tint. I was hoping to find the answer here.
