I am having a problem with the Rochester 1 barrel on my 48. had it rebuilt, but it apparently has a ball stuck in one of the passages that he couldn't get out, so it still isn't right. I was looking into ordering a new (rebuilt) one, but have been seeing a lot about the carter yf carbs. would this be a better carb for my truck? its one of those things that I enjoy driving, and when it actually gets used, its used a lot. but it sits a lot during the winter months also. I was hoping someone who might have experience with both could chime in and kind of offer some advice. thanks in advance for your help.

boonie, try using the Stovebolt Search function. This subject has been discussed hundreds if not thousand of times here on the “Bolt”. Some interesting reading to be had.

That was Carter's advertising slogan for many years, and it's still true today!
