It's getting chips and marks in it's somewhat nice paint job and I'd like to touch it up. Main problem is I have no idea of it's color. I've heard everything from Teal to Sea blue and Ford Pea green. I know it's hard to tell via pics but giving it a try anyways. We found a good automotive paint store that can match the color using some gadget they have. It works!

This is the ONLY way to match it! Having said that, it still may not be a "perfect" match. Even if you had the brand name, series and formula of what it's painted, the touch up paint may not match. Color names don't mean sh!t. In my opinion, take it to a body shop and ask them to fix the chips. They are able to do it, AND you won't be able to tell where they make the repairs which you will NOT be able to accomplish. Nice trucks cost money to keep nice. Cheap repairs will cheapen the truck.

Was hoping someone would recognize an OEM color code I could find in a rattle can application. But thats cool. It's a cruiser not a trailer queen and it's appearance is fine for that, at a distance LOL... Thanks for the suggestions. It looks satin so it's either a single-stage painted that way (does the color come off when you wipe it?) or a base-clear two-stage with a matte additive. If you're just touching up chips in the paint you'll probably be fine having a paint shop match it. | | |
