I will be bringing home my new to me 1950 GMC half ton this week. I'm not really familiar with this vintage of GMC Motors and know that they are quite different from their Chevrolet counterparts and that they had insert bearings and full pressure oil systems. Is there a spin on oil filter on these engines or is there a way to add a spin on remote oil filter?

It's already got a full flow filter- - - -it's just a canister type instead of a spin-on. I suppose you could convert to a spin-on filter, but you'd be taking a giant leap backwards in filter capacity.
