Hooked the battery up and the fan went on. Problem is that the thee way switch is in the off position. It still runs in all three positions. Wire from motor goes to one pole of switch. The other is from accessory terminal on ignition switch to the other pole of the heater fan switch. . Is the switch bad or is it wired incorrectly?

Low , med, high. And off The only problem youll have if you wire that switch the otherway is that the light will be on all the time If it runs in off position and the other three positions you have a bad switch | | | | | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 6,377 Ex Hall Monitor | | Ex Hall Monitor Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 6,377 | This is where a multimeter is handy. If you have continuity from your power in lug and any of the others with the switch in the off position it's a bad switch.

I’ll check it tomorrow. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2018 Posts: 139 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2018 Posts: 139 | So I checked the switch. DADS50, turns out I not only did I wired it backwards(light on all the time), but one wire was off the terminal. Hooked up correctly now and works like a champ. 3 speeds, with the first position after the off being the fastest. Nice report Snowman51
I have a recirculating heater in a breezy (no door/window seals) 1954 truck that kept me so warm that I had to take off my coat (in 4 degree F at 55 mph). You can hope that yours is up to that performance.
There were 2 Chevrolet-brand truck heaters: the recirculating heater and a more-expensive temperature-controlled Air-Flow/Fresh-Air heater. Post a photo or two and we can tell you what you have.

I like that the intensity of the light changes with the speed | | | | | Joined: Mar 2018 Posts: 139 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2018 Posts: 139 | Yup-recirculating. My 1951 “breezy” is like yours. Can’t wait for winter to try it out. My next job is replace the fuel pump. | | |
