My son has a 1946 2 ton and his battery appears to be on it's way out.
Waiting to see if the battery takes a charge then I want to load test the
battery.

I have checked regular auto batteries and have a load tester, It is a Sun BST 5.

So the question is do you load test a Gel Cell battery different?
Thank you, Jeffrey

What brand battery?

6v or 12v (not that it matters regarding your question).

If you have an Optima battery, there is a special/required charging procedure for a dead Optimal "gel" wetted-mat battery.

My son has the battery fully charged. The charger's green indicator light is on.

Edit to add the charger is made to recharge gel batteries.
