I just picked up a 1958 apache 3100 that I am trying to determine the original color/colors of. On the drivers side door jamb is a tag that says paint 740E and I have researched this number and came up empty and hopefully someone will be able to solve the mystery. Was the truck two tone? Any and all help will be appreciated. thanks alot neveridle | | | | | Joined: Dec 2013 Posts: 771 Former BMW Rider | | Former BMW Rider Joined: Dec 2013 Posts: 771 | neveridle,
Welcome to the 'Bolt. You've tapped into a tremendous wealth of knowledge here and plenty of people that are willing to share. Be patient and someone will chime in on your paint code question. Be sure to introduce yourself in the 'Welcome Centre' forum too!

Assuming you are talking about exterior color, I think you either read it wrong or the cab and/or plate has been switched. (1956)...or someone switched tag plate and made up a number for paint.
