Hi, I have a 1953 3100 with 3 on the tree. My shift lever has play in it and I wanted to take a look at tightening that up. Looking around, I see this kit (please see attached image), but I'm having trouble understanding how and where this wire spring looking thing would go and how it works. Any insight on how one of these kits would get installed would be helpful.
The parts are in there or the shift handle wouldn't stay on the shaft. Disconnect the shift lever assembly from the connector, and remove it from the vehicle. Press in the two pins and it should come apart. Probably the spring is broken or the bushing is worn out. Those are the correct parts to fix it. Fred
