1950 chevy suburban.....

I replaced the main spring and one of my handle droops. I suspect it may be that the post on the handle is twisted. Is there any way to adjust the post on the handle?

I took the handle off, put the square part in a vise and lifted up--works fine now--no droop---Bill

It was/is common to twist the square shaft to fix the droopy handle issue.🛠

You're also battling the wear between the shaft and the shaft hole.

Yeah, I'm going to do the vise twist tomorrow. I'm just happy I got it all timed right and operating correctly tonight.
