on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2018 Posts: 189 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2018 Posts: 189 | After spending the last month or 2 working on my 1950 4100 fire truck I took it on it's maiden voyage after it was taken out of service many years ago. It only has 2300 original miles on it, but all of the brake cylinders were bad, and the points were burnt was mostly all that was wrong with it. Drove it yesterday and it ran, and drove great! The only issues I have at the moment are the speedo needle goes up to 20mph, and sticks there, and the brake light switch is stuck on, with a new one coming. I'm going to try and pick up my 5 year grandson on his last day of school today. http://oi67.tinypic.com/ieo0wi.jpg

Those are the best, the first trip. Always a few glitches but it's still good. Enjoy the drive with your grandson. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2018 Posts: 189 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2018 Posts: 189 | Got the brake switch problem figured out, and now I have a spare switch. Turns out all I needed to do was the "toe board adjustment", which amounts to simply adjusting the master cylinder pushrod, until their is 13/16 inch clearance between the firewall, and the end of the brake arm. On the plus side I have great pedal travel clearance too. Brake pedal is a long way from the floor under hard braking. http://oi68.tinypic.com/1zywz83.jpg
