I have a 54 GMC 630 with the disc brake setup on the driveline. Was this on all 630's? Anyways I'm trying to figure out how to change the brake pads on it and also am wondering where to get new pads. What I would like to get is the factory service manual. Anybody have one? Thanks, Ron.

The disc parking brake in the driveline was I believe optional, or came on some trucks depending on other equipment.

They were made by Tru-Stop and used in many different brands of trucks for many many years. Mostly stopped being used when trucks with air brakes were equipped with the (then new) spring parking brake chambers.
The present company supporting Tru-Stop brakes is Stockbridge Engineering in Stockbridge, WI. They still make parking brakes, but also use them to control cable drums like for stringing power lines.

It's also very likely normal brake and clutch shops can reline your old shoes, or talk to Stockbridge.

There is also a place in Denver that is familiar with those brakes and relines them, let me know and I will dig out there info.

I believe Brake and Clutch in Seattle can reline those. I take all my stuff to them (use to have a golf car business, Taylor Dunn used brake bands and I also had some other strange things for them to reline!)
