I ordered all new shackles with pins and bushings but was wondering should the bushings really be replaced or would just new pins suffice? They dont look like they are in bad conditions but I am sure they have never been replaced. I ask because the bushings seem like they will be very difficult to remove and replace with new ones.

If they need to be removed and replaced are there any good tricks to get it done?

Thanks,
Eric

In my opinion, you have to replace them all together, or else the job is half [censored]ed. You can get them out, you might have to get a little medevil on it.

What's the secret to removing the bushings? I've been fighting pretty hard with mine.

That is awesome!! So simple and clean. Thanks for showing us the link. I had visions of beating the snot out of the bushing to get it out and buggering everything up.

Thanks again,
Eric

I’ve also used a ball joint press with appropriate adapters, that works on the most stubborn spring bushings. Ball joint press is like a very heavy duty C-clamp, and has a hole in the stationary pad.
