| | | | Joined: Mar 2017 Posts: 326 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2017 Posts: 326 | The horn quit on my 56 and in looking at replacements, I see that there are two horns available, one high and one low. When I got this truck, there was only one horn on the left side, of fairly new vintage, and nothing on the right, not even an empty mounting bracket. My questions are; was only one horn an option on this truck when new, and if so, should I get the high or the low? The one that broke was a Wolo 385-2T, high. I would not mind going with two except I would need to find another bracket for mounting.

Two horns for Cameo.
Right horn, "high note", available from Parts and Accessories Dept. and installed by dealer or customer.

A little pricey, but the Wolo that was in there only lasted about a year and a half. I called around to several of the local flaps (including an AC Delco distributor) and all anybody had or could order was the cheap universal variety.

| | | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,212 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,212 | The bracket for the horns is riveted to the horn from the factory, when you find the correct horn, you'll have the bracket. They bolt to the core support with one bolt going down into the top and one bolt going into the vertical part of the core support top angle iron on the engine side...there are louvers cut into the core support side panels to let the sound out. The correct horns are the "sea shell" type with half of a sphere cover. My left side horn was just bolted through a hole in the bracket, if it were originally riveted, then it must have been drilled out at some time in the past. I noticed that I have the same bolt pattern ( and bolts!) on the right side, so it would be easy to add the second horn.
