After starting to dismantle the wife's 3100 i realized that the frame had some 'issues'. Not really visible from underneath without a light (lesson learned) it seems the frame had been repaired at some point. To be fair they did a good job on it but I really wanted a replacement frame.
Was in the car with a buddy two weeks back and mentioned it. "You interested in another one then? Going cheap".
Turned out he just happened to know someone 100 miles away that had put their 3100 onto an Art Morrison frame and had the rolling frame pretty much in their way. What were the odds...
Grabbed the full rolling frame in excellent condition complete with 216 and 4 speed etc for a song. Spent the morning migrating the cab onto the new frame. Will be listing the old one in case it is of use to anyone.

Spare carrier isn't necessarily unusual, just rare, as many don't get put back in place, even when these trucks were in daily use. I accidentally ripped one out from underneath my '72 K10 Pickup once. Went back to get the spare, but the carrier was toast.

I don't have room to store parts, so when I put my 3100 pickup on an S10 frame I had to dispose of my old chassis quickly. I finally found a guy who'd take it off my hands for $50 - meaning I had to PAY HIM $50 to haul it off :-(
