OK, I give up. Can someone tell me what was the original paint color for a 1952 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup. All I know is the outside color; the existing color of the interior is a light brown/beigest color. Thanks. Bob

There is some confusion and disagreement regarding the interior paint colors. Also, original codes/recipes/formulas are nor readily available. Some vendors sell interior paints, but they sometimes do not provide a good match.
Very few, if any, Ditzler/PPG or Dupont color chips are available for interior colors.
I don't know what the correct color for the interior is, but on my 53 I used Rustoleum Dark Bronze Metallic #7272. It looks pretty close to the small areas of original paint. Others that I looked at are:
Subaru Misty Dawn Metallic #35-40840 Duplicolor Dark Bronze Metallic #BMG 0493 (76 WA528F) Light Briar Brown PPG DIU 3550 (83-84 Gm interior color)
I figure since no one really knows what color it should be whatever I decide on is good enough!

I am currently digging back in to a 1953 3800 (one ton) with a nine foot bed. I've owned it since 1979, and drove it until 1982 (or so). My wife got me involved in restoring it back in 2002, got the body removed and the frame redone, then things came up. Now I am retired and starting again. If anyone is interested I have photos on Imagur ( https://timwhiteblues.imgur.com/ ). I live way back in the woods in the Ozarks on 40 acres at the end of a 2 1/2 mile private road.
Like Bluesman I also used Rustoleum Dark Bronze Metallic #7272. It was as perfect a match for the original color in my '53 as as you can get. I also clear coated it.
