This question is probably for Spanky, but I've noticed there are handles on the seat frame of some cabovers (see photo), while my cabover (1950) does not have the handle. I was wondering if these were introduced in '51 when they added the wing window. I have seen the handles on 2 wing window equipped cabovers, one was a GMC the other Chevy. I was wondering if my frame had been changed at some point or if these handles were added later.
Anyone know?

GMC COEs had the handles on the seat frames and Chevrolet COEs had them attached to the cab.

Spanky will know if that was for 47-55.

The photo above is from a Chevy. Maybe it had a seat frame swap at some point?

What Tim said ! You'll also notice GMC COEs had the air cleaner under under the hood, attached to the cowl, and not under the cab as the Chevy COEs from 47-53 do. Chevy COE didn't move the air cleaner under the hood until 1954.
