Scribe location of the upper hinge on the cowl pillar and then remove upper hinge assembly by removing the hinge body to cowl pillar bolts. (These are the three bolts holding the hinge box to the body).
so after you remove the three bolts from the post this hinge should just pull out
is that correct... ????
cause mine isn't
it wiggles a little bit but after pulling and hitting the back side (this on a 51 3104 pass door w/ access to the back via the vent panel removed... )
w/ a plastic mallet, :hammering: it's not really moving
my door is removed off the hinges and i am applying the weather strip to the door. we noticed at the paint shop, that the pass door upper hinge pin is out of whack so i want to investigate. i believe mine is broken. i can feel the pin top but not the bottom of the pin.
so b4 i get to deep into this and s@%*? something up ... I better ask you guyz?
now I'M going to read Brian's (martinsr) account on rebuilding hinges
talk to ya in the morn....
