Hey all, putting the Langdon hei in '56 235 from a bel air. My question is about the nice little plastic connectors that connect the distributor to the coil and hooking up the #10 wire. The instructions say to use a #10 wire and connect it to the same side of the coil as the pink wire (+). The pink wire has a really nice little plastic, female plug that hooks up to the coil. How specifically do I connect the #10 wire?

Do I cut the pink wire and splice in the #10 (which doesn't sound right since the pink wire is not a #10)?

Do I take the crimp apart, remove the pink wire, add the #10 and re-crimp?

Maybe I'm over complicating, but seems like there should be a more factory looking method to adding that wire when it looks so nice out of the box.

Then I'm curious about seating that distributor. I have the engine at TDC, but when I just initially set the distributor in it is about a 1/4" from setting flush against the block. I haven't messed anymore with it, just wondering if I'm missing something there too.

Thanks

Drop me a PM, or an email. I don't feel like debating the Drama Llama on the open forum.
