The PO shave the door handles and I want to reinstall them. He pulled the handles then body filled the holes. How can I remove the putty without banging the very good and straight sheetmeatal up or messing up the holes for the handle. The hole on the inside of the door will be somewhat hard to get to due to a large brace. Thanks

Blasting is a great way to remove filler and maintain the integrity of the sheet metal below. Any good blasting with experience on body panels will know the process and the media to use for body filler removal.
Good luck with your project.

Sand/drill/whatever it takes to get it out.
Shoot, you can carve out a little at a time with a knife if you wanted. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 641 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 641 | yep propane torch and puddy knife | | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 | Take a 3M paint/rust stripper wheel on a drill to it. It will take the bondo off and do nothing to the metal. I have done this and it works really well. The wheel is sometimes referred to as a metal conditioning wheel. | | | | | Joined: May 2007 Posts: 275 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2007 Posts: 275 | A propane torch and putty knife is a lot faster and easier. I have to do the samething tomorrow. Remove some old bondo the PO applied triing to fill some dents that he didn't bother pulling out.
