I have a 1962 C10 (X-Frame) and I need to replace the carrier bearing. The problem I am running into is that the 2 bolts are buried in the center of the X and are very difficult to get to. On my old '63 C10 (ladder frame), there was easy access to remove and replace the carrier bearing.

It looks like I will need to remove the front driveshaft and the emergency brake system from the X before I can access the carrier bearing bolts. Is this correct? Is there an easier way to do this that I'm missing?

Thanks in advance.

Maybe this link will help you find the info you need.

I should remember how to do that as I replaced the carrier bearing in my 66 C10 with an X-frame...

Thanks! I have the Factory Assembly Manual, somewhere. I've moved since the last time I used it, and I can't seem to locate it.
