Adapters are available.🛠This info based on our own Search function and a search for NV4500. Try a search, you might just find the exact info you need.

I'm assuming they are like finding unicorns by now. Not to mention seems like ALOT were 4wd. Here's some good info on adapting the NV4500. NV4500 to JeepNV4500 to DodgeLooks like Advance Adapters sells kits for doing swaps. InfoKitsIf you have a later model trans, it may be possible to just have the lower holes drilled in the NV4500 case and have your bellhousing center hole opened up. | | | | Joined: Sep 2004 Posts: 201 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2004 Posts: 201 | | | | | Joined: Oct 2017 Posts: 66 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2017 Posts: 66 | You can put an n4500 up to a 292 with a little machine work. No adapters are required. However it needs to be a 92-95 one. It's pretty easy. | | | | Joined: Sep 2004 Posts: 201 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2004 Posts: 201 | Perfect! Thanks for that info. I will go dig up one of those 92-95 NV4500s What mods/machine work would i have to do?

WT" 4x2 trucks . Those special option Cheyenne trucks. Got the nv4500 if it came with a 5 speed. They even put them behind the little 4.3 v6. That's my favorite way to find them. Those work truck optioned rigs are easy to find and they don't cost much money generally. I always find them sitting at landscapers and contractors back lots. | | | | Joined: Sep 2004 Posts: 201 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2004 Posts: 201 | I like secrets! Thats great to know! And allows you to still keep your cradle mount on the bell housing. If you use your earlier bell you need to have the center bore opened up to the 5.120 size of the early nv4500. Then you drill and tap the front to 1/2 x20 on the front of the trans for the muncie pattern. Add the pivot stud to the retainer on the trans. And bolt the bell to the trans. Uses all the stock clutch and pilot bearing. You need to cut a new hole in the floor for the shift tower. | | | | Joined: Oct 2017 Posts: 66 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2017 Posts: 66 | I am going to send a pm. I like this site. That's how I did mine. Used the stock bellhousing and stock clutch linkage. If you don't mind changing out your transmission crossmember (I did mind, hence the adapter plate), the stock chevy bellhousings for any of the nv4500 transmissions will bolt up to the later i6's, sbc, bbc, and w motors. You just end up having a transmission mount at the rear of the trans instead of under the bellhousing
Liquidated my projects Now looking for a decent '47-'55.1 3100, 3600, or 3800
