porky here-

i'm in the process of putting my dash back together and was wondering what specific order i should start with.

my 1st thoughts were:

fire wall pad
defroster ducts
wind shield wiper motor (don't have a complete unit however)
glove box
air vent cables/flappers
standard heater - hoses
steering column bracket
parking brake lever
instrument panel
knobs?
heater control?
column shifter?
bench seat

any advice would be much appreciated..

Better stick that heater control ahead of the glove box. I just took mine apart, and if you have the sliding controls you have to get your hand in there from the side to tighten the two upper screws. Mine were tight, I don't know if they are supposed to be tight or just touching. Hardest would be the defroster ducts to me, so I would start with them first. Just my uneducated opinion. On edit...mine is a 55-2 so probably not the same dash??

LeeP,

The dash is the same from 55-2 thru 59...

Your order looks good to me...just start up high and work your way down after installing the pad. Wiper motor and transmissions, then duct funnels I believe is how I started.
