The block numbers are F0405K& the number on the head is 3836848. There is no oil line in the lifter compartment. What now? I can send a picture if neccessry. Thx. Richard

I have not run the block numbers to see what engine you have, so I am assuming it is a 235, baed on the head numbers. You should have a line coming out of the block from in between the two center lifters that connects to the center connector for the rocker shaft. Oil should be pumped through this line and supply the front and rear sections of the rocker shaft. The inside of the shaft should be clean and oil should come out through a hole in each rocker. You need t get a shop manual and see where things connect and what you are missing.

That big groove around the center of a hydraulic lifter is how the oil gets from one bore to the next. Put a lifter into the first and last hole in the block, run the pump, and keep adding lifters two at a time. I'll bet you get oil flow all the way to the middle of the block that way. If you do, the problem with collapsed lifters is with the lifters, not the oil supply. "new" doesn't necessarily mean "good" and new 235 hydraulic lifters are notorious for failing to stay pumped up. I also think it would be a good idea to look at my blog post "Understanding The 235 Hydraulic Lifter"
