For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2018 Posts: 16 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jan 2018 Posts: 16 | Working on the seats I discovered, that the original covers are made of canvas rather than vinyl. Has there been an option for canvas 72 years ago? Or are my seats from another model, probably an older one? The frame fits perfectly, it has a recess at the position of the fuel filler neck. Anyone here in the forum with comments ore explanations? https://abload.de/img/dsc022090ps85.jpghttps://abload.de/img/dsc022031asdk.jpgThank You! Sven

There is typically a canvas or woven layer under the leather between the cotton and horse hair. What mine had was a much loser weave. I suspect yours has been recovered. The other clue is the OEM seat material was not secured with hog rings. It was secured with a sort of c shaped clip in a channel. Very difficult to remove. At least that was how my seat was constructed. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2018 Posts: 16 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jan 2018 Posts: 16 | Thanks Gene, your photobucket is a good source to get things done originally!
